Wheels on the Bus – The Musical
Venue: Gateway Theatre Sky Garden
Date: 1 – 9 August 2026
Festival: Litte Big Feet
Director/Producer: Elisha Beston
‘Bus Drivers’: Jana Ponniah, Jasmine Kuah, Ted Ngoo
Stage Manager: Gabrielle Ng
Choreographer: Pat John Gregory
Official Bus: Tower Transit
Inspired by the ever-popular song of the same name, Wheels on the Bus introduces small theatregoers to a high energy interactive musical that takes the audience on a journey through bus driver training school where the young ‘cadets’ must learn their right from their left and how to count to 10, not to mention some groovy dance moves before they can graduate and officially drive the bus! Through the use of song and dance to engage the young audience, the children are taught things such as letters, numbers, and shapes.
Each child (included in ticket) will receive a bag of “toys” which help them interact with the actors on stage through each activity and song – and the kids get to take this “toolbox” with them so they can continue the fun at home!.
What Your Child Will Practice and Play
Wheels on the Bus – The Musical is as educational as it is entertaining! Disguised as a fun-filled bus driver training school, the show helps our young cadets develop crucial early-learning skills to graduate.
By the end of the show, children will have practiced:
- Early Literacy & Numbers: Cadets will practice their ABC and counting from 1 to 10 as they navigate their way through training.
- Directional Awareness: Through interactive games, children will learn to distinguish their left from their right.
- Basic Geometry: Catchy songs and visual aids are used to help kids identify basic letters and shapes.
- Social Skills: Turn-taking, listening and engaging as part of an audience.
- Movement Coordination: We get everyone up on their feet to learn some “groovy dance moves,” promoting physical coordination, balance, and rhythm – and fun!!.
Grab your tickets, warm up your singing voices, and get ready to earn those bus-driving wings! We can’t wait to see you at the theatre!
Songs, laughs and fun for children aged 2 to 6 and their grown-ups, in the much-loved show from the USA that wowed audiences in Singapore in 2022!
The running time is approximately 60 minutes with no interval.
Coming August 2027
Llama Llama Live!
Bedtime has never been so exciting! It’s the end of the day for the Llama family. After a long day of adventures at the school and the store, Baby Llama can’t wait to put on his red pajamas. He and his friends the toys are ready to sing and dance their way to sleep…except…they need a bedtime story and a kiss goodnight and a drink of water.
But, where’s Mama? This hilarious new musical based on the bestselling books by Anna Dewdney will warm every Llama and Llama Mama’s heart.
Ages 3 – 6
Good Night, Gorilla
The Zoo is closed for the night and it’s time for the animals to go to bed, but just as the Zookeeper bids them one last “good night,” the Gorilla steals his keys and, after letting all the other animals out of their enclosures, follows him home to sleep! Original music by award winning composer/playwright Austin Zumbro allows the audience to sing and dance along with interactive theatre experiences that support early math learning and early literacy, as well as delightful production elements that truly bring the original book by Peggy Rathmann to life on stage.
Ages 6 months to 3 years.
