Jordan Sommervold, Academy Director
A native Coloradan, Jordan Sommervold is an actress, director, teacher, and wife. She held leading and secondary roles in numerous musicals and plays, and has worked with hundreds of students directing dozens of kid’s musicals.
Jordan was a Dean’s List graduate of Southeastern University in Florida, holding a B.S. degree in Theatre. Her Capstone Project involved writing, producing, directing, and starring in a 60-minute one-woman musical which was noted by the Chairman of Theatre as setting a new standard for the SEU project.
Initially attending Liberty University, she was one of nine students selected to represent LU at the South Eastern Theatre Competition. Extensive additional training in both vocal music and dance allows her to choreograph and direct the musical performances with ease.
Jordan has been a Senior Theatre Director at the Academy Children’s Theatre in CO Springs for 4 years, where she directed classes year-round for ages 4-19. Prior to that, Jordan traveled to Pennsylvania to serve as the Chestnut Lake Camp Theatre Director for 3 summers while teaching preschoolers during the school years.
Tighe Burg, Ballet and Tap Teacher
Tighe Burg has studied dance at The Academy of Classical Ballet, Colorado Ballet, David Taylor Dance Theatre, Cleo Parker Robinson Dance, and the University of South Carolina Dance Conservatory, where she trained under world renowned teachers such as Susan Jaffe, Fernando Bujones and Stacey Calvert of New York City Ballet. After winning a Platinum Medal at the Dance Educators of America, she attended a ballet program at University of Nevada on full scholarship.
Recent ballet performance roles include: Clara in The Nutcracker, Aurora and Princess Florentine in The Sleeping Beauty, Tinkerbell in Peter Pan, Odalisque in Le Corsaire, Les Cygnets in Swan Lake, and Kitri in Don Quitoxe.
Tighe has been teaching ballet for the last ten years. Former Assistant Director at the Academy of Classical Ballet., she currently teaches for the Golden Dance Arts Program and is excited to come aboard Front and Center Theatre Academy this spring. Tighe is happily married and the mother of a preschool boy and baby girl.
Lynmarie Burg, Musical Director
Lyn holds a Bachelor’s Degree in choral music education from Western Illinois University and has enjoyed working with both young people and adults over three decades. Her experience spans three arenas: public schools, church, and individual coaching. In school settings, she primarily taught high school and middle school choir; while her roles within a variety of churches have included adult, youth, and children’s choir direction and adult theater direction. She has especially enjoyed her years in black gospel praise teams and choirs. Her pursuit of excellence is evident as students under her coaching brag championships in state, regional, and national competitions in vocal music, oratory, theater, and tap dance.
Lyn currently serves as the Vocal Coach for The Recording Studio at Denver Media Center.
She directs the music for main stage productions, provides singing workshops, substitutes, and contributes to the theater’s administration.
